52 Pieces Project by Renee Coates

Pablo Picasso once said, “Painting is just another way of keeping a diary.”  If that is true then Renee Coates (www.reneecoates.com) is making an original entry each week.  After building success as an artist Coates wanted art lovers who wouldn’t usually have the opportunity to own one of her original prints, to have the chance to. That is how 52 pieces was born.

The 52 pieces project allows admirers of Coates art to spend a few hundred dollars rather than a couple thousand on an original piece. Every week Coates creates an original 6” x 6” oil painting and puts it on eBay for anyone to bid on.  Each month Coates changes up the theme for her weekly paintings.

Coates paintings feature anything from vibrant landscape paintings to simple yet elegant paintings of fruits.  Pieces go online every Sunday at 11:52 p.m. EST.  If you don’t win the bidding don’t worry, you can still buy a Archival giclee print on on 7”x7” water color paper starting at $1.  For more information go to www.52pieces.com.

Hello
Attached is my art-work for this project. However i want the canvas photo printed with the following specs,

1. Measures 8x10
2. Provide quote on 1000 and 2000 Copies
4. Do u accept credit card.

note:
IF YOU PRINT ANYTHING APART FROM THIS LET ME KNOW
God Bless you - please quote according

The Comic Sans was preserved from the original email for the true scam feeling. This scammer didn't even bother to send it to the right email (we were on the BCC list, along with I'm sure a whole lot of other printing companies). There was no attachment to the email. We have also never heard from this person before.

This e-mail does not even deserve a reply.

Stay Safe,

Michael

Giclee Seminar - Tomorrow in Chicagoland (Free!)

IT supplies is hosting a Giclee seminar tomorrow (May 16th, 2007) in Schaumburg, (NW suburb of Chicago). Its free, appears to be sponsered by Epson, and will feature local artists showing Giclee tips, tricks, and a basic overview of the Giclee process. Its running from 1PM - 7PM, I will try and catch the end of it if I can get back from the Adobe CS3 Conference in time (unfortunately, not Free). Should be a good time.
